African leaders and prominent institutions across the globe have agreed to boost local production of pharmaceutical products.
The effort, according to African Union, AU, Spokesperson, Janet Byaryhanga, is to help reduce import of pharmaceutical products into the continent from other developed nations, to engage experts in the pharmaceutical sector all over the world in order to address those involved in policy formulation in the health, finance and other sectors so as to provide all that are needed to drive the local pharmaceutical industry in Africa.
