Technical Areas > Monitoring and Evaluation

ASH set up a performance management system for measuring the progress and developmental changes that occur as result of its work. Although ASH does not support direct service delivery, the project does help its partners create environmental conditions (e.g., policies, systems) that support implementation of appropriate interventions to improve the health of Africans. Because ASH aims to strengthen African institutions and create conditions that facilitate improved health, ASH also routinely monitors progress made on outcome and output indicators related to the project’s work in knowledge generation, advocacy, consensus building, and capacity building. Furthermore, the project tracks progress on all activities to ensure that they are on target and produce the expected result. In addition to measuring internal project performance, ASH also provides monitoring and evaluation support to USAID and direct M&E capacity building support to key regional African institutions.
